  • Very useful

  • People have no idea what they are getting themselves into when they purchase a domain name without adding the privacy feature. Trust me I’ve seen tons of cases of defamation, extortion etc to innocent businesses and individuals that expose basic whois details sometimes unknowingly.

For many criminals they have turned it into a very lucrative, full time job. If you have a domain and you get a phone call from someone telling you that they will ruin you online, posting your info next to the word scam, unless you cut them a quick check of $10,000, I would recommend you write them a quick check and treat it as a expensive lesson learned.

The alternative is to pay thousands of dollars cleaning up the mess and on lawyer fees where you end up getting no where.
